Principal's Message

Dear students, parents, guardians, and community members of Honey Hollow Elementary School,

I am Joshua Jackson, Jr., the blessed principal of Honey Hollow Elementary School.  I have been in education for over 30 years, although I began my journey in the United States Air Force.  I left the military with the hopes of entering the aerospace industry, however, in the midst of this transition, I discovered the joy of teaching.  I began my career as a substitute while completing the requirements for a teaching certificate.  I became strongly interested in teaching elementary students because of the lack of African American male role models in this field.  I felt it was my calling to become an educator.  As a teacher, I taught academic and life skills to our community’s greatest assets and to our future, children of our community.

For more than 30 years, I have enjoyed the journey of supporting the academic, behavioral, and social development of our scholars, your amazing children.  This journey is not complete without your invaluable help and support.  Education is a partnership that requires the village (our community) to work collaboratively to help develop and support our children to become prepared and ready for the wonders and challenges of our global society.  As we work together, your children, our students, our scholars can become critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and entrepreneurs to change the world they live in for the betterment of all.

Here at Honey Hollow, I am here to support you, your children, our staff, and our community.  Let's do all that we can do to support our academic and social emotional development of all children, regardless of their differences, backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities.  We value all.  Please do not hesitate to reach me or any Honey Hollow staff member if you need assistance, have a question, or just want to come by and chat.

Thank you for the opportunity to share with you.

Sincerely,

Joshua Jackson, Jr.,  Principal
