Melissa Reyes is an exceptional teacher! “Exceptional” is a perfect word to describe the
learning environment she creates for students and the high expectations she sets for them.
Melissa strongly stresses and nurtures an attitude of “I can accomplish anything through high
effort and perseverance” among students. She holds herself to a high standard of developing
students to become life-long learners by ensuring she provides high quality instruction rooted
with researched best practices. As a co-lead facilitator of the site’s PBIS team, Melissa helps
Honey Hollow’s efforts to provide tiered social emotional support for all students. As a lead for
the school’s social media, Melissa Reyes uses amazing creativity and passion to promote and
support the rewarding engagement, positive interactions, and enrichment activities occurring
at the site. Melissa is well-deserving of Honey Hollow Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year.
